Burnt Potato Music

Burnt Potato Music is the creative project of Derek Grimm, a second-generation adoptee, video producer, and multimedia content creator based in Sydney, Australia. Music has always been a way for him to express what's hard to say any other way; and this project is where that goes.

The Untethered album was written from the inside out. It explores adoption, grief, loss, and the complicated feelings that come with searching for identity and belonging. For anyone who's lived any part of that experience, the themes won't feel melancholy so much as honest. Future albums may go somewhere else entirely, but this one needed to go here first.

Burnt Potato sits in the heavy blues rock space, with soaring, gritty vocals and a raw, unpolished edge. It's a genre that was made for this kind of music. Blues has always been the sound of hard feelings finding somewhere to go.
